Randstad is currently recruiting for a Freedom of Information (FOI) Officers to work within a busy State Government Agency located in the CBD. This will require a high level of administrative skills, resilience, and ability to be agile in a changing environment.
- $43.33 - $46.18 per hour + Superannuation
- Full Time Hours, 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
- 3 month contract with view of extension
About the role
- Registering and documenting FOI requests, preparing and distributing FOI acknowledgement emails.
- Undertaking procedures to assist with creating, processing and making decisions to ensure all matters are recorded correctly on all databases in accordance with the FOI Act.
- Monitor, assess and vet draft determinations and files prepared by other FOI team members.
- Providing administrative support
- Assisting in developing systems, processes and tools to support FOI handling and awareness.
- Providing administration access where necessary to various agency databases
- Assisting with the release and closure of FOI matters.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and understand requests for information, the Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act)
Skills and Experience
- Must have experience with The Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act)
- Proven experience in a similar role, public service experience is highly regarded
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Highly organised, excellent attention to detail and ability to follow processes
- Competent with IT & ability to navigate multiple systems and databases
- Ability to manage competing priorities and be agile in a changing environment
- Experience in stakeholder management, both with internal and external stakeholders
