About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Support Engineer with a passion for wireless communication systems? Our client is looking for a Senior Wireless Communication Technical Support Engineer to join their team who has been around for more than half a century! In this role, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting communication networks, serving clients across public safety, utilities, and enterprise sectors globally!
As part of their technical support team, you’ll use your expertise to troubleshoot, resolve, and provide guidance on complex issues, ensuring reliable operation and exceptional performance of advanced wireless communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on technical role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Systematic Fault-Finding and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues across network and terminal components efficiently and accurately.
- Provision of Technical Information: Offer detailed guidance and support to customers, ensuring they understand system operations and best practices.
- Customer Report Generation: Produce clear and detailed reports outlining issues, resolutions, and system performance for clients.
- Component and Software Testing: Test and validate network components and software updates to maintain high system performance.
- ITIL-Aligned Incident and Problem Management: Use ITIL principles for organised and structured problem resolution.
- On-Call Support: Be available for scheduled on-call hours to provide critical technical assistance outside of regular business hours.
What You’ll Bring
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- 5+ years of experience in a technical support role within ICT or wireless communications.
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) systems and concepts is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ITIL Service Management principles to ensure structured support processes.
- Knowledge of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) technologies such as P25, DMR, conventional, trunking, and simulcast systems. Experience with LTE technologies is also beneficial.
- A relevant engineering degree or equivalent work experience in wireless communications or ICT.
