We are looking for a skilled and motivated Water & Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure, Strategy and Planning group. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and support across a range of civil engineering, integrated water management, drainage, and infrastructure planning activities. The role will involve reviewing infrastructure designs, preparing cost estimates, supporting procurement processes, and assisting with technical advice on urban renewal, growth areas, and strategic planning sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess civil engineering designs and cost estimates for infrastructure funded under developer contribution plans.
- Evaluate technical reports from consultants related to integrated water management, drainage, flood management, and utilities.
- Assist with procurement processes including preparation of requests for quotations and contractor selection.
- Provide written advice such as memos, briefing notes, and email correspondence.
- Maintain and update cost estimating databases.
- Support Infrastructure services staff across various projects, including transport and development contributions.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Knowledge & Experience: A Civil Engineering qualification is essential, with demonstrated experience in civil consulting/design.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex issues and provide clear recommendations.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in stormwater drainage and road infrastructure design, with additional experience in community facilities, utility services, and integrated water management highly desirable.
- Administrative Skills: Experience in project management, budget preparation, and the use of GIS and other project management/database software is advantageous.
