Transport Scheduler - Altona
We are currently seeking an experienced transport scheduler to join a fast growing organisation located in Altona. This is a full time permanent opportunity commencing as soon as possible. Our client is a major supplier of dangerous goods across Australia.
Reporting directly through to the Fleet Manager, this position will require the highest level commitment, punctuality, and can do attitude.
We are interested in candidates who have experience and are looking for a long term opportunity. Good computer and admin skills are essential and the ability to work well within a team is required. Ability to think outside the box plus strong troubleshooting and solving skills will be highly advantageous.
You will be responsible for:
...- Looking after 10-15 trucks in/around Melbourne
- Answering phone calls and assisting with enquiries
- Booking and scheduling ensuring deadlines are met
- Administration Adhoc & Compliance
- Maintain purchase orders and ensure on time deliveries
- Schedule and prepare run sheets to be sent out
- Showing initiative to enhance processes and suggest ideas for ongoing improvements
- Ensure / support continuous initiatives to support driver welfare.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Intermediate excel skills
- SAP experience preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- Reliable and self motivated
- Previous experience in a similar role
