Randstad is partnering exclusively with Mount Barker District Council to recruit this vital position. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to lead by example, ensuring critical infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards while enhancing operational excellence across the network.
Your new role will involve:
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and guiding staff/contractors in daily operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of water, wastewater, recycled water and bore water networks.
- Ability to plan, implement and oversee maintenance programs within budget.
- Skilled in troubleshooting network issues and implementing innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for managing inquiries and stakeholder engagement.
- Understanding of plumbing, electrical and mechanical aspects of wastewater systems.
- Experience in budget management, expenditure monitoring and funding applications.
- Willingness to participate in an on call roster (1 in 3 weeks) for emergency repairs and network issues.
To be successful you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications, trade qualifications in plumbing or demonstrated experience in related field.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and supervision.
- High risk work licences, HR licence – essential
- Traffic management certificate – desirable
