On behalf of our defence client, we are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with experience working in complex IT, network, and software projects within the government and defence industry. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work on a full systems life cycle of a product from beginning to end.
Permanent full-time role based in Canberra.
The candidates must be Australian Citizens and must have a NV2 Defence Security Clearance.
As a Systems Engineer, you will
- Develop, review, and approve design of complex IT, network, infrastructure, and software systems.
- Undertake systems engineering activities such as requirements gathering, verification validation, testing, and evaluation.
- Conduct Technical Risk assessments and report any defects related issues in engineering activities.
- Ensure all system design and engineering activities conforms to the legislative frameworks, and defence’s policy requirements.
- Exercise Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
- Install and monitor software, hardware, equipment and systems continuously for ongoing maintenance and technical support.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Computer science degree.
- Minimum 5 plus years experience as a systems engineer for complex IT Projects, preferably within a defence environment.
- Understanding of Defence Systems Engineering life cycle, and ability to communicate effectively with key defence stakeholders, including Commonwealth (CoA) representatives.
- Experience in ASDEFCON contracting suite of templates (Desirable).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) certification from Engineers Australia, registered in the System Engineering (SE) area of practice (Desirable).
