The Opportunity
A new and exciting opportunity has emerged for a Supply Chain Officer to join a global manufacturing company renowned for its commitment to quality in Australian manufacturing and logistics. In this role, you will work in a collaborative team, responsible for timely deliveries of all raw materials, whilst maintaining targeted inventory levels. This is an exciting time to join a team with established members and be part of something meaningful, contributing to the company's ongoing success and innovation. This position offers full-time, permanent employment opportunities and will look favourably on candidates who are organised, competent with software systems (ERP & Excel) and have proficient in analysing data.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate stock on hand and adjust safety stock limits based on product nature, suppliers, and production demand
- Ensure availability of stock for production, minimising shortages
- Monitor and address Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) alerts
- Review Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) and adjust delivery frequency if needed
- Utilise data tools such as Excel and Power BI for inventory management and analysis
- Communicate with suppliers to manage deliveries and ensure timely receipt of materials
- Consolidate data from various sources to troubleshoot stock location issues, particularly for items in transit
- Utilise Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems for inventory management
- Collaborate with procurement and planning teams to report and address any inventory-related issues
- Coordinate with warehouse team for incoming stock management
Selection Criteria
- Experience in Manufacturing, particularly in the automotive sector, is valued
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain or Logistics/Material Management
- Advanced knowledge in modern ERP systems & Excel
- Strong analytical abilities with a keen focus on accuracy and detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
- Confidence in using own initiative to solve problems
