Randstad is proud to partner with the leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government. We have an immediate need for an OO6 Supervisor located at Cannon Hill.
The Supervisor will assist in managing and coordinating project planning and delivery activities to maximize project profitability and ensure client satisfaction. You will provide supervisory services for the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade works, and offer inspection services in line with KPIs. This role involves liaising with customers, subcontractors, and other business areas, completing scope works, and providing estimates as required.
Duties:
... - Produce high-quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations, and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs.
- Provide a level of supervisory services for the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade work, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and undertake high-quality condition assessment services for our clients, including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials, including collecting samples of suspected asbestos-containing materials for laboratory testing.
- Undertake inspection services including tenancy management services and maintenance referrals on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, and workplace health and safety.
- Ensure the application of safety management systems (SMS), including:
- Participate in and facilitate WHS audits under the direction of the Regional WHS Adviser.
- Undertake on-site WHS inspections, including plant and equipment checks.
- Ensure all job documentation includes Safe Work Method Statements or other risk assessment documentation as appropriate.
- Promote and ensure a healthy and safe work environment through your own practices and by raising awareness among staff and contractors, while working with the Regional WHS Adviser and WHS Manager to promote a consistent WHS approach in the workplace.
- Promote internal products and services to existing and prospective clients through regular meetings and established forums, identifying opportunities for new business services based on emerging economic, legislative, and environmental programs.
- Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
The successful candidate will:
- Exhibit leadership while supervising services for the delivery of construction, contract management, maintenance, and upgrade work, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff, and subcontractors.
- Display an excellent working knowledge of construction equipment and procedures with a strong focus on WH&S.
- Demonstrate the ability to produce high-quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations, and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance across all activities.
- Possess advanced computer skills and have a sound understanding of Excel.
Requirements of this role include:
- Hold a current Builders Supervisors Licence – Highly Regarded.
- A current Open Class C Driver's Licence (Queensland) or equivalent.
- Criminal history check prior to appointment.
