We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Designer/Engineer to join our clients SRDE Solution Design Team, focusing on delivering impactful and innovative technology solutions within the Credit Risk domain. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of data-driven solutions in a large and complex banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Design & Engineering: Design and implement cross-functional solutions for enterprise data products across various technologies and platforms, including SAS, Hadoop, Big Data, Azure, and Teradata Data Warehouses.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Credit Risk business stakeholders, service owners, tech leads, and line-of-business (LOB) leads to prioritise and assess requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Enterprise Component Delivery: Identify and oversee the delivery of reusable enterprise components that enhance the maintainability and delivery of data products.
- Data Quality & Sourcing: Ensure the design and delivery of high-quality data products by overseeing the sourcing, design, and placement of data, ensuring that they enhance the enterprise’s value.
- Agile Leadership: Guide Agile teams in the design, development, testing, and implementation of technical solutions using full-stack development tools, technologies, and DevOps processes.
- Impact Analysis & Estimation: Conduct impact analysis, effort estimation, and contribute to technical documentation and governance activities.
- Collaboration with Tech Teams: Work with business units to understand credit risk-related data elements, including metadata, data lineage, and reference data.
- Cloud Platform Expertise: Design solutions that leverage cloud technologies, including serverless architecture, with a preference for Azure experience.
Key Requirements:
- Credit Risk & Banking Expertise: 5+ years of experience in a large and complex Credit Risk or Banking environment, contributing to business and technology solutions.
- Extensive Data Engineering Experience: 10+ years of experience in delivering technology solutions, engineering complex data processes, and ensuring high-quality data handling and transformation.
- Advanced SQL & SAS Skills: 5+ years of advanced SQL and SAS experience, particularly in data manipulation and cleansing using Base SAS, SAS/Macro, SAS DI Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, and SAS Management Console.
- Big Data & Cloud Technologies: Expertise in technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Python, Java, Spring Boot, Git, Flink, CosmosDB, Akka, Scala, SQL, and Azure Synapse.
- Data Integration & BI Tools: Hands-on experience with data warehousing, integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Sterling), and familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and IBM Cognos/TM1.
- Cloud Platform & Serverless Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing solutions for cloud platforms, with a focus on serverless architecture, preferably Azure.
- Cross-Technology Solutioning: Experience designing solutions that span multiple technologies, ensuring alignment with best practices, design principles, and industry standards.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
- Data Analysis & Modelling: Strong experience in data analysis, modelling, and working with complex data processes.
- Atlassian Toolset: Proficient in using the Atlassian toolset, including JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket, for effective project tracking and collaboration.
- Agile & DevOps Knowledge: Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps processes, with the ability to guide teams through the development lifecycle.
