Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Safety Advisor to join their team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of employees and contractors working on a key response program for the state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive on-site safety inspections and audits.
- Deliver engaging and informative site safety inductions for new employees and contractors.
- Respond effectively to safety incidents, ensuring appropriate protocols are followed.
- Check and enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Provide expert guidance on safe chemical handling and storage practices.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive safety documentation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Certificate 4 in Health and Safety (or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven experience in conducting on-site safety inspections, inductions, and incident response.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and regulations.
- Experience in checking PPE requirements and safe chemical handling practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience working within a government department is highly desirable.
