We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Foreman/Site Manager to oversee and manage commercial fit out projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fit outs, exceptional leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects and be part of a dedicated and dynamic team. This position is available as they have a strong pipeline of upcoming work available for you to be a part of.
Responsibilities:
- Managing daily operations on-site ensuring work is completed according to scope, plans, and set deadlines
- Monitoring project progress and maintaining constant communication with the site team and external designers
- Preparing Safe Work Method Statements and ensuring compliance with building regulations and health and safety legislation
- Prepare and implement Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
- Demonstrating excellent look-ahead planning, teamwork, and communication skills
- Regularly updating clients on progress and documenting meetings
- Maintaining comprehensive site records and managing documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on project status
Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and efficiently - Conducting 'Project Completion' walk-throughs with subcontractors and issuing 'Defect & Completion lists'.
What you'll need:
- At least 3 years of experience in Australia in a Site Foreman or Site Manager role working on commercial fit out or refurbishment projects
- Carpentry trade background is highly regarded
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings
- A thorough understanding of WHS workplace procedures, injury management, building standards, regulations and codes
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent time management, efficiency, and attention to detail
- Familiarity with RFIs, variations, and building permits
- Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a commitment to being part of a top performing company with an outstanding team culture
- Familiarity with project management software such as Procore and Hammertech is an advantage
- If you have no experience working in Australia on commercial fit out projects, unfortunately you will not be a good fit for this position.
