About the Roles
We are seeking talented Service Designers to join our client's dynamic team. With five roles available across varying levels of experience—3+ years, 4+ years, and 8+ years, this is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about improving services and creating exceptional user experiences.
You’ll contribute to the design of end-to-end services that meet user and business needs. Whether you're preparing foundational service design artefacts or leading stakeholder engagements, these roles offer the chance to make a tangible impact at every career stage.
Responsibilities
Based on experience, your responsibilities may include:
Mid-Level (3+ to 4+ Years):
- Prepare service design artefacts, including current state journey maps and service blueprints.
- Use storytelling and visualisation to bring artefacts, presentations, and reports to life.
- Undertake effective stakeholder engagement with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Support the development of service design plans.
- Communicate the service design process to project partners, stakeholders, and the project team.
- Provide capability uplift for Australian Public Service (APS) staff in Service Design best practices.
- Utilise tools such as Microsoft and Adobe Creative Cloud proficiently.
Senior Level (8+ Years):
- Lead the development of advanced service design artefacts, including detailed service blueprints and journey maps.
- Drive storytelling and data visualisation for high-impact artefacts, presentations, and reports.
- Lead complex stakeholder engagements, ensuring alignment across diverse groups.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive service design plans and their execution.
- Advocate and communicate the service design process to executive stakeholders and project partners.
- Champion capability uplift for APS staff, delivering training in Service Design methodologies.
- Demonstrate expertise in leveraging Microsoft and Adobe Creative Cloud products.
- Provide strategic guidance to teams and work autonomously while mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
- Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain security clearance.
- Experience:
- 3+ to 4+ Years: Solid foundation of skills in service design, with the ability to prepare artefacts and engage stakeholders effectively.
- 8+ Years: Extensive experience in service design leadership, stakeholder engagement, and artefact development. Proven ability to lead complex projects and mentor teams.
For All Levels:
- Strong proficiency in storytelling and visualisation techniques to convey insights clearly.
- Effective communication skills to articulate the service design process to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
- Experience in capability building and knowledge transfer to APS staff is highly desirable.
