Randstad Recruitment is proud to partner with a department of the Queensland Government, managing transport systems for the maritime division of the state.
In this dynamic role as a Senior Safety Advisor, you will provide industry expert advice, as well as, develop, redevelop, and deliver comprehensive Workplace Health and Safety programs, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees and maintain legislative compliances.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships across a range of stakeholders
- Provide advice in WHS objectives and strategies
- Develop WHS Assurance program tools & verification activities | Risk escalation & Management process
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety documentation and safe work method statements
- Redevelop WHS consultation processes including WHS committees and communications
- Conduct WHS audits and risk assessments
- Identify and report safety deficiencies and implement practical solutions
- Assist managers with psychosocial risk management under WHS legislation
- Lead &/or Assist investigations as a result of WHS Incidents
- Finalisation of the draft WHS Management System Manual, including creating guidelines and tools, including but not limited to:
- Remote and Isolated Work
- Flammable Atmospheres/Hot Works
- Plant, Equipment & Materials
- Contractor Management &Noise Pollution
- Working at Heights & PPE
- Infection Prevention & Storage
Certification & Experience:
- Current QLD “C” Class Driver’s License (Mandatory)
- Proven industry experience and comprehensive understanding of the WHS Legislation.
- Previous experience in Government Environment (Desirable)
- Previous experience in Maritime Safety Industry (Desirable)
- Completion of a relevant academic qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (Desirable)
