We are recruiting for a Senior Reporting and Advisory Accountant to join a leading financial services organization within their Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy team. In this senior role, you will be responsible for providing expert technical advice on Group accounting matters and ensuring the timely and accurate statutory reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the Group’s accounting policies and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
This role will require a collaborative mindset as you will work closely with senior management, external stakeholders, and your team. Your ability to present complex financial information clearly and drive continuous improvement in reporting processes will be key to your success.
You will be supported by a team of accountants handling the detailed work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical accounting advice to support strategic initiatives and commercial outcomes across the Group’s business divisions.
- Offer thought leadership on accounting matters and Group policies to senior finance leaders.
- Influence the Group’s external auditor to secure technical clearance on accounting issues.
- Design, implement, and communicate up-to-date accounting policies and provide necessary training to finance teams.
- Manage the implementation of changes to accounting standards.
- Lead the statutory reporting for the Group’s subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the delivery of the Group’s consolidated half-year and annual statutory reports.
- Ensure all financial statement disclosures are accurate and complete.
- Analyze and implement improvements to the Group’s legal entity structure.
About You: We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
- CA/CPA qualified (or international equivalent) with 7+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Expertise in the banking or financial services sector is preferred.
- Proven experience in producing and reviewing financial statements.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply accounting standards effectively.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills at all levels.
- Business acumen and a track record of delivering successful outcomes.
- A curious mindset, eager to drive continuous improvements.
