Randstad are partnering with one of Victoria's largest, well known State government departments to hire a Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist on a temporary basis of 4 months + potential extension.

The Role:

The purpose of this newly created role is to work within the Corporate Procurement Branch to undertake procurement strategy development, as well as lead sourcing and contract management activities under 5 million for the goods category.

Key Accountabilities:

• Prepare, manage, and process procurement documentation
• Negotiate contract KPIs and maintain supplier relationships
• Monitor expenditure and resolve issues promptly
• Define milestones and monitor supplier performance
• Develop procurement strategies and provide expert advice
• Ensure compliance with Departmental policy and VGPB framework
• Prepare procurement plans, reports, and briefings
• Develop and improve procurement policies and systems
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders effectively

About you:

• Demonstrated experience in procurement and contracts management and preferably category management in a public sector environment
• Experience in procuring goods in an operations environment
• Ability to work autonomously
• Influence and Negotiation: Uses persuasion and negotiation skills to influence key stakeholders
• Stakeholder management: Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses to build mutually beneficial partnerships
