Due to a new system implementation they are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join their small team on a fixed-term or temporary basis (whichever the successful candidate prefers) for 6 months to assist during the transition.

About the role:
Reporting into the Payroll Manager this role will entail a mix of working with the team to undertake BAU payroll processing while also working with the Manager while they roll out the new system and support with UAT and other project work. The ideal candidate will have solid tenure within payroll and will be able to act as a backup for the manager and provide support and impart knowledge to the team when required. Your duties will include:
- Process weekly, fortnightly, or monthly pay changes and calculations
- Participate in ongoing improvement and standardisation of payroll operations, systems, and procedures
- Participate in the new payroll system rollout
- Assist in preparing end-of-month and end-of-year reconciliations
- Ensure prompt maintenance of staff records, timely filing, and archiving according to company retention policy
- Assist in integrating payroll functions for acquired businesses
About you:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Strong award interpretation skills
- A team player with excellent communication skills and a customer centric approach to your work
