This exciting new senior payroll officer opportunity will focus on the end to end payroll processing of 1,200 + staff on a weekly and fortnightly basis.
You will work closely with the wider payroll team (5 people total) and report into an experienced payroll manager. This is a complex payroll working across 20+ awards so candidates who have worked in high volume, multi- award environments would be suited to this position.
You will be working across a range of systems including iChris & Employment Hero, experience with these systems are beneficial but not essential.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract position, full-time and based in St Leonards (close to public transport). Hybrid working is offered, 4 days in the office and 1 day from home. Salary on offer is $100,000 - $105,000 + super depending on experience.
Job responsibilities:
- Prepare and process end-to-end payroll on a weekly and fortnightly basis for over 1,200 employees across multiple entities/states.
- First point of contact for any payroll queries and resolves any issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with awards, fair work, ATO, etc.
- Interpret remuneration packages including allowances, bonuses, commissions, salary sacrifice and fringe benefits.
- Review payroll journals and reconciliations as well as prepare and lodge payroll tax, super and workcover reports.
- Maintain and update employee records on the iChris & Employment Hero payroll systems.
Candidate skills & experience
- Prior experience working in a senior payroll capacity will be beneficial e.g. 5+ years of end to end payroll processing.
- Ability to interest awards and must stay abreast of any changes.
- Experience working with complex payroll environments (e.g., multiple awards, shiftwork, penalties, overtime)
- Experience with iChris/Chirs21 and/or Employment Hero would be advantageous. Knowledge of Kronos would be a bonus.
