Senior Payroll Officer
Location: Eastern Suburbs (specific location TBC)
Contract Type: Permanent, ongoing
Salary: $100 - $110k + super
Randstad is a preferred recruitment partner with a reputable government organisation, and we’re seeking a skilled Senior Payroll Officer to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on a complex, large-scale payroll within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including calculations, deductions, tax filings, and payment distribution.
- Support payroll requirements, ensuring adjustments and updates to employee payroll data are processed promptly.
- Assist in preparing new pay rates, handling back payments due to changes such as re-classifications, performance reviews, and tax adjustments (including PAYG taxation).
- Manage monthly payroll preparation, processing, reconciliation, and disbursement of deductions.
- Contribute to timely monthly superannuation payments.
- Act as the escalation point for complex payroll matters.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Proficiency in processing payroll across multiple awards and enterprise agreements.
- Proven experience in process improvement and driving operational efficiencies.
