Your role:
To manage a claims portfolio of major loss claims in accordance with the specific insurance policy Issued. Agents are responsible for assisting the claims team in achieving optimal claims cost and the highest possible standards of service delivery. You will coordinate with the team to provide direction and decision on claims related aspects of cases, as well as supporting resolution to other complex claims or claims where customers have expressed vulnerabilities or financial hardship.
Key Deliverables:
- Assess and major loss and high cost claims within the terms and conditions of our clients underwritten travel insurance policies for assistance through to claims finalisation
- Make approval and declinature decision on active assistance cases within your delegate authority as required
- Provide expert advice and support to claimants throughout the claims process, addressing their inquiries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Reviewing client's situations individually and assess cases in order to ensure the right level of coverage of insurance is provided.
- Have a strong understanding of claim assessment rules, regulatory requirements set out by various codes and legislation including the Insurance Contracts Act, Privacy Act, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements
- Provide a professional, clear, concise and solution focused communication with customers.
- Be able to navigate claim processing systems to a high degree.
- ensure all assistance and claims files are dealt with on a daily basis to the required standard within agreed time frames
- Show support to colleagues across the business in technical claim matters, show enthusiasm towards company values and goals and demonstrate a consistent attitude and behaviour aligned with company values and culture
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in insurance claims with in-depth knowledge (Travel or health insurance is highly desired).
- An understanding of the insurance contracts act, the privacy Act, GICOP and other guiding regulation
- Understanding of underwriting procedures and a proven ability to understand and interpret relevant policy wordings
- Professional qualification in Insurance (eg ANZIIF), finance or related fields would be highly beneficial.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Proven time management skills
- Good problem-solving skills - ability to interpret technical / investigation reports to make sound business decisions.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and navigate through systems effectively, PC literacy and experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Experience in a customer service environment
