The Maintenance Planner will develop, schedule and coordinate work packages for maintenance activities, driving improved asset reliability, availability and efficiency. This role ensures resources are optimised for safe, cost effective work execution, contributing to long term network performance.
Randstad is partnering exclusively with SA Water to recruit this second skilled Senior Maintenance Planner. This senior role offers a hands on opportunity to lead by example, ensuring critical infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards while enhancing operational excellence across the network.
Your new role will involve:
... - Maximise efficiency by assessing resource availability for upcoming schedules and collaborating with planner, supervisors, coordinators, contractors and external stakeholders.
- Develop proactive, detailed plans to ensure safe, high-quality and cost effective work execution.
- Oversee procurement and availability of services and materials, ensuring seamless alignment with scheduled maintenance.
- Strategically build and forecast preventative maintenance schedules to enhance operational reliability.
- Provide essential technical documents, including drawings and manuals to support contractors in executing maintenance and repairs.
- Activate and refine maintenance plans to improve resource allocation and overall efficiency.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation by coordinating cost data, reports and maintenance history within work orders.
To be successful you will need:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a maintenance planner.
- A qualification in engineering/trade or equivalent experience.
- Sound knowledge of work strategy, planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance and capital delivery works.
- Superior communication, presentation and writing skills with demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in scheduling software and tools.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of works management systems, planning and scheduling processes and work prioritisation.
