The Maintenance Planner will plan, schedule and prepare work packages related to maintenance activities to enhance asset reliability, availability, and performance to optimise resources for safe and cost-effective work delivery. Randstad are working exclusively with SA Water to recruit a Maintenance Planner. This position will be a capable senior leading the way with a hands-on approach, ensuring that the core of the network is maintained to the highest standards.
Your new role will involve:
- Optimising resources by analysing available capacities for upcoming schedule periods and liaising with area planners, maintenance supervisors, project coordinators, contractors and external customers.
- Build detailed and proactive plans for safe, quality, and cost-effective work execution.
- Manage and monitor procurement of services and materials for availability in the relevant schedule period.
- Build and develop schedule of work and preventative maintenance forecasting.
- Provide drawings, manuals, and other documents to assist contractors with maintenance and repairs.
- Manage the activation and grouping of new maintenance plans to optimise resource levelling and efficiency.
- Coordinate to ensure cost data, internal and external maintenance reports and other documentations are included to work order as history.
To be successful you will need:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a maintenance planner.
- A qualification in engineering/trade or equivalent experience.
- Sound knowledge of work strategy, planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance and capital delivery works.
- Superior communication, presentation and writing skills with demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in scheduling software and tools.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of works management systems, planning and scheduling processes and work prioritisation.
