An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel with minimum 8 years years PQE to join a leading ASX-listed company in the consumer/retail sector. This role is ideal for an experienced corporate lawyer with a background in a mid-to-large law firm or in-house counsel advising ASX-listed companies.
As a key member of the legal team, you will provide strategic legal advice on a range of corporate and regulatory matters, working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organisation. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, and risk management
- Advise and collaborate with Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Senior Leadership Team (SLT), operational teams, and external partners
- Navigate complex legal and regulatory challenges, ensuring compliance while supporting business growth
- Manage and negotiate contracts, oversee regulatory engagements, and support corporate strategy initiatives
- Influence and guide internal stakeholders, ensuring legal considerations align with commercial objectives
Key Requirements:
- 8+ years PQE with a strong background in corporate law
- Experience in a mid-to-large law firm or in-house counsel role advising ASX-listed companies
- Proven ability to engage, consult, and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, regulators, and external partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex legal and regulatory matters
- Experience in the consumer or retail industry is preferred but not essential
