Role Overview:
The Senior Information Officer (Data Analyst) is responsible for conducting the activities required to collect, analyse and present performance measurement data for distribution to internal and external clients in response to on demand requests and annual reporting requirements. The position is required to collaboratively with a range of clients, stakeholders and other teams to support quality evidence-based decision making and policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain performance measurement systems to provide accurate, reliable and relevant data to meet the requirements of decision-makers, managers and planners.
- Extract, analyse and present complex data sets using contemporary information management and business intelligence software to meet internal and external reporting requirements and on-demand requests.
- Create and maintain business intelligence solutions to present departmental data and statistics in a more accessible and useful manner for distribution to stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on the context, emerging trends, and interpretation of departmental data sets and statistics to clients, colleagues and management.
- Advise on appropriate use of departmental statistics, identify emerging trends, and assess their impact on performance measurement.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to address issues and implement best practice approaches for infrastructure and planning-related services.
- Assist with the preparation of briefing notes, Ministerial and executive management correspondence on complex and sensitive issues.
- Undertake research, analysis and evaluation to support business improvements, assist managers to implement improvements, and promote best practices within the department’s infrastructure, planning and asset management programs.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for infrastructure, planning and asset management services that align with industry quality standards.
- Support the creation of a work environment that promotes equity, ethics, safety, professional growth, skill development and continuous improvement.
Desirable:
Qualifications in IT Service Management, open data, information management or geospatial information.
