Randstad is a preferred recruitment partner for a well-regarded State Government organisation, currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support their finance team. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with the Standing Directions under the Victorian Public Sector (VPS) and other relevant financial regulations.
• Oversee Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) reporting and compliance.
• Support end-of-month and end-of-financial-year processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Provide expert technical accounting advice in line with government financial frameworks.
• Assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and the preparation of budgets.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CA preferred).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience with Standing Directions under VPS and FBT (preferred).
• Proven experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to engage and advise key decision-makers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial systems and Excel, with experience in government finance processes being highly regarded.
