They currently have a vacancy for a Senior Estimator to be based out of their Brisbane office. As the Senior Estimator you will support the business in the analysis of project requirements, preparing cost plans/estimates and contribute to the preparation of tender packages, contract letting and any other commercial processes in the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying or Project Management
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the retail, industrial and commercial sectors.
- Proven experience on projects up to $30 million
- Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Strong analytical thinking, good commercial acumen and organizational skills
As the Senior Estimator, in this role you will be responsible for:
- Review project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and analyse costs of materials, labour, and overheads.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and project details.
- Prepare and present detailed estimates for review.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to the team.
- Assist in the evaluation of contracts and tenders.
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
