About the role
Because of their immense growth in their Data Architecture portfolio, an exciting opportunity has come up in one of their offices in Sydney. You will be joining their elite team and playing a lead role in providing the specialist skills needed to drive the maturity of their next generation data platform on hybrid cloud (AWS and GCP). They are urgently looking for data modelers to provide critical support to their Data Enablement portfolio and provide a robust data modelling structure in their growing team. Experience working in a cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) is essential for this role.
Skill Sets
You need to have the following skill sets to excel in this role:
- Extensive experience working in data modeling and architecture in Financial services organizations like banks or insurances.
- Excellent experience of data modeling principles across conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., Aurora, DynamoDB).
- Experience in different data modeling techniques and design patterns like 3nf, Data Vault, kimball etc
- Expertise in data warehousing concepts and experience with tools such as ETL, data integration, and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar tools is a plus.
- Previous experience working with payments systems and understanding of payment processing flows is highly desirable.
- Experience leading discussions and presentations. Experience in driving decisions across groups of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Liaise closely with the Information Architect team to ensure delivery is in accordance with the agreed architecture, High Level Solution Designs and Information Strategy.
- Design and implement end-to-end data solutions that support business objectives and enhance decision-making capabilities.
- Develop detailed data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, to support various business processes.
- Ensure data is structured and optimized for efficient querying, analysis, and reporting.
- Work closely with Data Engineers and other stakeholders in the data domain to produce robust data modeling solutions.
- Lead the development of data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, and other necessary documentation to guide the data design process.
- Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate data tools, technologies, and frameworks to meet project requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective data models and design solutions.
- Monitor and maintain data quality, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior data team members.
