The Role
The Senior Business Change Manager will play a critical role in driving successful organisational change for the Payroll Capability and HR Management Program (PC-HRM).
This role reports to the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) and the Business Outcome Owner with a day-to-day reporting line into the Executive Branch Manager (PC-HRM Program Director). The role focuses on ensuring that change initiatives from the Program achieve their intended benefits and outcomes while minimising disruption to directorates. The program uses Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and the Senior Business Change Manager is a key role in this framework.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Benefits Realisation:
- Confirm and track benefits throughout the change lifecycle.
- Ensure ongoing focus on benefits realisation through adoption of new capabilities delivered throughout the program.
- Work closely with business areas to ensure benefits can be realised and measured.
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute change strategies aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals.
- Provide leadership and direction for directorate staff, ensuring consistent and regular engagement and support.
- Lead relevant governance bodies and consultative groups.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Supported by the PC-HRM Program team, lead organisational change initiatives to introduce new capabilities.
- Align change activities with PC-HRM program objectives, benefits, and milestones.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders at all levels (executives, managers, employees, external partners).
- Build strong relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on processes, systems, and people.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Communication and Training:
- Supported by the PC-HRM program, manage compelling communication plans for different stakeholder groups.
- Lead the implementation of training materials to ensure smooth adoption of changes.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and manage risks related to change implementation.
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.
- Organisational Culture and Readiness:
- Assess the organisation’s readiness for change.
- Address cultural barriers and promote a positive change mindset.
- Performance Measurement:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of change initiatives.
- Monitor performance information to assure the maintenance of business performance at acceptable levels of stable operation during transition.
- Regularly report progress to program leadership.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Provide input to program assurance activities.
- Learn from change experiences and apply lessons learned.
- Continuously improve change management processes.
