Key Duties and Responsibilities
Development
- Support, extend and develop new and existing Antarctic applications
- Using ColdFusion, SQL, HTML, CSS & Javascript. Making use of appropriate libraries
- Ensure code is written to high standards, flow on effects are considered and all changes are tested and stable before released
- Document application changes in Git and Confluence where appropriate
Database Management
- Plan and implement database design changes required for application enhancements
- Maintain changes across the 3 core databases: Production, Quality & Development
- Intermittently roll-down data from production to the two test databases
Infrastructure Support
- Assist in debugging when issues occur on the production servers
- Assist when issues occur for the ColdFusion server
Business Analyst/Project Management
- Liaise with stakeholders to determine application requirements
- Gather specifications, priorities and timeframe for requested changes
- Plan and implement application changes, including development, testing and release
External Agencies
- Collaborate with external agents for data access and transfer from internal AAD applications
- Provide support to internal and external stakeholders when AAD applications are providing integration
Essential criteria
ColdFusion programming experience preferred or recent experience in other web-based technologies with the ability to learn ColdFusion quickly.
Experience in database query languages, Microsoft SQL Server querying and general database experience preferred.
Experience in using JavaScript, JQuery or similar with the ability to quickly attain these skills.
Experience in migrating business functionality and applications from an in-house to an off-the-shelf corporate IT model.
Desirable criteria
Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively within a small team. Highly motivated self-starter, demonstrating initiative, and the ability to establish and deliver on priorities. Well-developed communication skills and an ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
