The Role
Security Architects design, review, test and assure the technical environment, solution designs and solution implementations in accordance with current and emerging security best practice. They contribute to the technical architecture and security policies and practices
Key duties and responsibilities
- Architect robust security solutions aligned with the Essential Eight framework to enhance organisational cyber resilience.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Cyber team members on implementing Essential Eight controls (as per the Architectural Design).
- Partner with stakeholders, including Cyber, Technology Operations, Applications Delivery to ensure seamless integration of security controls into operations.
- Create detailed architectural documents, security patterns, cyber awareness materials and policies & procedures to improve security posture.
- Technical skills in security architecture and frameworks including multi-factor authentication implementation, privileged access management (PAM), patch management, application control, application hardening.
Criteria
- Proven experience as a Cyber Architect or in similar role, with expertise in designing and implementing Essential Eight cyber security controls.
- Deep knowledge of MFA solutions, administrative privilege management, system hardening, application control, restricting macros and patch management, at least at a Maturity Level 1 level.
- Strong knowledge about Windows, Linux and MAC OS endpoints and servers.
- Bachelor's degree and/or relevant architecture qualifications in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related fields.
- Experience in a Federal Government environment - Strong communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
