My client, a highly academic non-denominational co-ed school, located in a relaxing coastal setting is seeking a SECONDARY ENGLISH TEACHER - permanent full-time.

The campus is spacious and offers impressive playgrounds and leisure spaces, with more green and open space than any other private school in the Northern Beaches. In addition to beautiful on-site sporting facilities including: an 8-lane 25-metre heated pool, large multipurpose oval, numerous play spaces, theatre hall, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, an indoor sports complex and court, a Performing Arts Centre, a health centre, fully equipped gym and weights room, along with several customised classrooms for science, food tech, visual arts, music, TAS and STEM to name a few.
Essential Criteria:
- creating a learning environment that is engaging, promotes and recognises excellence and differentiates for the needs of all students
- Have appropriate qualifications in education and be registered and comply with NESA requirements
- Maintain a valid Working with Children check approval number
- Have academic mastery of the subject content you teach
- Have proven skills in programming, lesson planning, assessment and reporting strategies
- Be a reflective teacher, continually looking for feedback and learning opportunities
- Embrace the use of relevant resources and strategies to improve student agency, engagement, differentiation and learning
- Recognise the importance of providing differentiated content, assessment and learning strategies in all classes
- Be skilled in classroom management and administration
- Understand the need to provide effective feedback to students in order to improve their understanding and learning
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, Heads of School and parents
- Be an active user of the schools e-learning platform to support learning and communication
- Assess and return work promptly to students with adequate feedback
- Be available for faculty and staff professional learning, before and after school, where required
- Serve as good ambassadors of the School. This includes conducting oneself in accordance with the professional standards of the School, including being wellgroomed and wearing appropriate professional attire
- Take an active interest in the general life of the School - supporting policies, procedures, aims and objectives in order to facilitate the day-to-day operation of, and promote a high quality of education within, the School
- Maintain professional confidentiality concerning information about staff and/or students and their families
- Act as a member of a team, developing and supporting the philosophy and ethos of the team
- Ensure that all documents are prepared and presented in accordance with the School’s Style Guide
- Attend and participate in assemblies where directed
- Undertake other roles as determined by the Principal
Requirements:
- Current NESA accreditation to teach in NSW & current NSW Working with Children Check
- Have a passion for teaching the relevant subject area(s) and relevant teaching experience
- Have recognised Tertiary Educational Qualifications
- Be able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
