Randstad Data is currently working with a fantastic utilities organisation based in Brisbane’s North to find a fantastic Reporting Analyst to join their team for an initial 6-month contract, with the strong chance of extension past that point. This role will work closely with various stakeholders across the business to to capture the reporting requirements and data sources for the development of the reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and or validate existing reporting processes to ensure they support ongoing business practices and new ways of working.
- Develop and or validate reporting requirements including requirements matrix and traceability as required.
- Develop reporting user stories that can be used as an input for reporting development.
- Develop reporting specifications in consultation with IMS project team members, project stakeholders and the reporting development team.
- Test developed reports to ensure they align with expected outcomes.
- Prepare high quality documentation, including detailed specifications, requirements analysis, requirements traceability, business standards & procedures, testing artefacts and system/process handover documentation.
Necessary Skills:
- Understanding of reporting visualisation techniques and tools (ideally Tableau).
- Ability to manage requirements traceability.
- Ability to investigate business operational challenges, developing options analysis and scenario profiles to present alternative solutions to stakeholders.
- Ability to capture, develop and document business requirements, including the updating of existing requirements.
- Ability to capture, develop and document use cases, including the validation of already existing use cases.
- Experience in the development and establishment in formal control documents, frameworks, governance, policy and processes, preferably in an IT environment.
- Business analysis experience from a diverse range of perspectives including Waterfall, Agile,Information Technology and/or business process management.
- Advanced understanding of typical business functions of government owned corporations, preferably in the energy or utility sector.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of information modelling principles.
- Experience in delivering real time industrial control system operational technology.
- Experience in the energy / utility sector.
- Experience with SAP.
- Exposure to the energy sector and the national electricity market including transmission, distribution, generation and market operator functions as well as rules, regulations and constraints.
