Randstad is supporting the recruitment for a leading organization in the life sciences and chemical industries, dedicated to upholding the highest regulatory standards while delivering high-quality products. We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join the team on a 12-month contract.
About the Role
As a Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with TGA, DAFF, Customs, Dept. of Health, Dept. of Defence, and other regulatory bodies. You will manage import/export permits, maintain regulatory documentation, and liaise with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Australian and New Zealand regulations governing the importation, storage, and distribution of controlled and hazardous substances.
- Manage import/export permits and liaise with customs brokers, shipping agents, and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain and update SAP material master data for all regulated products, ensuring compliance flags are set.
- Prepare reports for regulatory bodies and maintain records of scheduled products.
- Build relationships with key regulatory authorities to stay updated on industry developments.
- Process customer orders and manage compliance documentation, including customer notifications and questionnaires.
- Support the Supply Chain team by ensuring all required compliance flags and documentation are in place.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiencies in compliance operations.
- Assist in weekly/monthly reporting, including permit processing and SAP screening metrics.
- Ensure timely renewal of licences and permits to prevent import delays.
- Develop and update SOPs and compliance procedures as needed.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Science (Chemistry/Biology preferred) and/or postgraduate business studies.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies, including TGA, DAFF, Customs, and other government authorities.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or chemical industries.
- Experience managing import/export permits and regulatory documentation.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar compliance tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
