The Cyber Project Manager role is to ensure successful project delivery and includes:
- Detailed planning and governance of Cyber Security projects (scheduling, cost management, risk and issue management and controls).
- Procurement activities including tendering, evaluation and contract management.
- Support processes including internal Council and vendor tiered support and arrangements.
- Implementation activities including vendor engagement and management, coordinated deployments, security processes, data migration, testing and change processes.
Role Overview:
The Cyber Project Manager will:
- Manage the project in accordance with published project office procedures and the endorsed PMP. This includes, if required, using the project variation management process, to formally adjust project scope, schedule or budget.
- Report on project status and performance against the Project Management Plan (with respect to schedule, cost, quality and risk) to the Portfolio Delivery Manager, Project Control Group, Project Owner and Project Office.
- Utilise Council’s Enterprise Project Management (EPM) systems.
- Work with the various technical groups, consultants and other project team members to create and maintain a schedule for project activities, in line with risk and issue management.
- Manage assigned business and project resources according to the defined scope of the project, ensuring they are clearly tasked with manageable workloads.
- Follow Council’s project management and procurement policies and processes. Develop project management documentation as needed.
- Ensure that Council’s required project governance is in place for the project.
- Provide quality review of project management deliverables prior to submission for approval and at the achievement of each major project milestone.
- Track project costs against budget and monthly review of budget forecasts (to project completion).
- Project risk and issue management. Includes making decisions or escalating decisions to resolve project issues in a constructive and timely manner with consideration of key stakeholder needs.
