... With huge growth in a challenging 2024 across their business internationally and in Australia this principal builder is seeking a proactive Project Manager for new operations in the Newcastle, Maitland and Hunter regions.
They pride themselves for excellent presentation to their clients through finish and craftsmanship, and very much want to employ someone with similar values, that is an excellent team player and communicator, coupled with the ability to think on their toes, manage the clients demands, as well as the contractors, on sometimes complex commercial schemes.
The movement in their portfolio for the Newcastle region has been strong and the person will need to have a minimum of 5 years plus experience working for a similar client side provider or have solid client facing skills from the contractor side understanding the hands on fit out environment, basically pushing and driving the projects.

About the role
As their designated Project Manager, you will be expected to take full ownership of the project, but will also have initial guidance. The successful PM will have a pleasing portfolio, gained working on similar projects in Australasia or New Zealand managing all aspects of the project life cycle, ensuring safety and building standards are high, and the sequence of works are seemingless, ensuring a smooth and successful delivery, on time and budget.
You will be well supported by full procurement teams, H&S team, finance and accounting, and have the future capability to do your own “bids” but this is not essential initially. Programming is a key requirement of the role, so the successful PM will be PC literate with excellent time management and organisational skills to drive the project.
This Project Manager role would suit someone with a good energy, who is forward thinking from the local area, looking for a bit of extra work life balance, as they require this PM to work from home, and be paid mileage to come to headquarters in Sydney for meetings and who can comfortably perform on projects over $3 million AUD.

- Managing onsite issues
- Working to deadlines, contract and project time frames.
Requirements:
- You will have a minimum of 5 year’s experience working on similar projects ideally for a client side similar firm or from a tier 1,2,3 commercial fit out contractor in Australasia or New Zealand.
- Professional delivery of Commercial Fit Out and Refurbishment projects
- Construction Management, Project Management or a Trade Tertiary background - Carpentry
- On-site construction experience
- Commitment to safety and quality compliance
- Multi-project planning and coordination
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Great communicator
- Ability to work with Site Managers, sub-contractors and do own contract administration.
- Manage project budgets
- Ability to problem solve
- You will be highly motivated and ambitious with drive and passion in a leadership capacity.
- Confident and looking to exceed in all facets of your work. Delivering on time and on Budget.
- Exceptional Communication skills
- Computer – Use of Microsoft Projects
- A “can do” positive attitude and confidence.
