About the Opportunity:
Randstad is proud to support a large Federal Government organisation in their recruitment of a Project Lead, Psychosocial Disability. This role presents the successful candidate with the opportunity to contribute to a significant area of reform within the Federal government.
This Project Lead, will be accountable for leading the development and implementation of a strategy and work plan that addresses the Government's response to NDIS Review’s recommendation on psychosocial disability. The successful individual will use their understanding of both the mental health and disability sectors to inform policy development, legislative reform and stakeholder engagement.
This individual will be engaged on a full-time basis, for a 12-month labour hire contract offering the possibility of extension. The agency provides a flexible work environment that supports work-life balance and is conveniently located near public transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a strategy and work plan for the Agency in response to government recommendations regarding psychosocial disability.
- Apply strong understanding of the mental health and disability sectors, including the partnerships between clinical and non-clinical supports.
- Deliver on legislative reform through conducting analysis and advice on policy matters to inform the development of rules and legislative instruments that underpin the NDIS Act.
- Provide expert guidance and strategic thinking on key issues to improve the NDIS for individuals with psychosocial disability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with psychosocial disability groups, peak organisations, and the wider disability community.
The ideal candidate for these roles will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated skills in policy analysis, strategy development and research.
- Capability to communicate complex ideas clearly and to produce advice that is timely, accurate and persuasive.
- Ability to manage senior level relationships across Governments and with key external stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of national and international contemporary and innovative approaches and policies relevant to people with disability, particularly psychosocial disability.
- Experience in leading initiatives in high pressure environments, delivering outcomes in the face of complexity and change.
- Extensive senior stakeholder engagement and management experience
- Proven experience in leading large-scale reform projects across disability, mental health, education, justice or social service sectors, preferably in a government, large health care service provider or consultancy setting.
- Extensive experience in senior stakeholder engagement and management.
