Randstad has been engaged to source Project Engineers on a permanent basis for the 52km track construction package on the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport project. This project will connect the new Western Sydney airport with the surrounding areas. This driverless railway using CBTC technology will have six new stations at St Mary's, Orchard Hills, Luddenham, Airport Business Park, Airport Terminal and the Western Sydney Aerotropolis (Bradfield).
RSA commences construction activities in early February and ideally the successful candidates will be available to start in early March to support an increase in their construction activity. The roles will be based on project site offices along the rail alignment in locations such as Luddenham and Orchard Hills.
Requirements for Project Engineer Role -
- Infrastructure delivery background with at least 2-3 years project management experience.
- Relevant Bachelor degree qualifications (e.g. Civil or Mechanical Engineering) *
- Previous rail industry experience
- General awareness of OH&S legislation
- Construction Industry Induction Card
- Cat 3 rail medical, drivers licence and RISI/Pegasus accreditation
* For the Project Engineer roles, candidates must either have an Australian Bachelor's Engineering degree or an overseas Bachelor's Engineering degree that has been accredited by Engineers Australia.
Responsibilities -
- Actively engage in quality, safety, and environmental compliance initiatives.
- Foster a strong safety-first culture
- Maintain high standards in risk management and hazard identification within assigned areas.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring scope and budget adherence for both internal teams and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager on tender development, including scoping, cost estimation, work programs, and methodologies.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, safety, and quality documentation.
Interviews are expected to take place over the next two weeks with quick feedback provided to all applicants. It will be a one round face to face interview process with a quick progression to formal offer for successful candidates.
