Project Engineer – Major Road Project | Leading Tier 1 Civil Contractor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civils Project Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 civil contractor on a major infrastructure project in the Newcastle area. About the Project:
The project focuses on the expansion and improvement of a major road project, which includes the construction of new roads and bridges. This infrastructure will help improve flood relief and accommodate increased loads due to ongoing developments in the region. The project is critical to supporting local growth, including the establishment of a new renewable energy zone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the delivery of civil infrastructure works, including pavements, earthworks, and drainage.
- Ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the client’s specifications.
- Report to Project Managers, maintaining clear communication and ensuring smooth execution of the works.
- Contribute to project documentation, including quality, safety, and environmental considerations.
- Participate in client and contractor meetings, providing updates and resolving issues as needed.
- Track financials and manage costs associated with subcontractors and larger work packages.
- Lead and mentor project teams, including undergrads, grads, and site engineers.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including Transport for NSW (TFNSW) guidelines.
Skills & Experience:
- A strong background in civil engineering with experience in roads, drainage, and earthworks.
- Previous experience working on large infrastructure projects over $50mil
- Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically in civil works.
- Previous experience working on Transport for NSW (TFNSW) projects is essential.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage various stakeholders.
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) is required.
- Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field.
Additional Information:
- Hours: 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility: Up to one day working from home available.
- Relocation: Assistance with relocation is available.
