About The Role:
The Project Design Manager is a key member of the client-side development team. You will be responsible for portfolio design, delivery and management. Together with the development manager, the Project Design Manager works closely with external consultants to ensure the design and documentation of projects are fit for purpose, and will deliver housing driven by tenant wellbeing, design quality, environmental performance and operational effectiveness within cost parameters.

This will include:
- Assist the development team with selection and procurement of design consultants including preparing scopes of work outlining planning requirements
- Create the briefing pack for the design team, including the development brief, target yield schedules and design requirements & guidelines.
- Provide guidance on interpretation of the site constraints and opportunities, and provide feedback on the design concepts submitted to ensure alignment with the clients design standards and project requirements.
- Provide guidance and support in the construction phase for projects which the clients deliver
- Undertake detailed project design review incorporating a value engineering approach to support compliance with the clients standards and specifications, statutory authorities such as NCC and relevant Australian Standards.
About the ideal candidate:
You will have worked in a similar role, and ideally have the following:
- A passion for design excellence and extensive experience in residential design
- Experience in construction delivery, particularly in multi-residential projects and projects using the SSD pathway
- Strong communication skills who take a collaborative approach to their work
