About the Role
Our clients are a well-known NSW State government agency committed to developing, empowering and strengthening arts, screen, music, and the creative industries in our state. Under the NSW Government's cultural infrastructure program, they provide places for the arts to flourish in NSW. They are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to come in and work with their team in The Rocks, Sydney on a contract opportunity until 30/06/25.
Candidates for this position must have proven experience in civic or cultural infrastructure project management, property management, precinct planning and/or placemaking or project delivery of complex built form projects, coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, equivalent professional experience.
As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for performing project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of designated cultural infrastructure projects.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Provide a range of project management and support services to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards, within agreed scope and in line with agency project management methodology
- Manage discrete workstreams within projects, undertake research, develop project plans, monitor project performance against objectives, manage risks and issues and evaluation ensuring that objectives and reporting requirements are delivered on time and comply with government and quality requirements
- Prepare, maintain and distribute a range of project documentation for accurate reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes
- Coordinate the preparation, formatting, quality assurance and tracking of a wide range of written communication materials suitable to a variety of stakeholders including reports, governance papers, briefing notes, discussion papers and presentations conveying complex information simply
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, providing relevant advice and information on emerging project issues and risks to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other projects and priorities
- Ensure projects comply with governance requirements to successfully deliver all key project/s milestones and outcomes
- Coordinate end to end procurement processes in alignment with probity standards and government requirements as well as coordinating all project finances, using agency standard tools and systems, and processing payments to legislative requirements as directed
- Collaborate across the team and wider Agency to ensure effective integration and alignment of plans and activities, understand requirements, seek advice from subject matter experts, resolve issues and deliver agreed outcomes
About You
You will be an experienced Project Coordinator with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in civic or cultural infrastructure project management, property management, precinct planning and/or placemaking or project delivery of complex built form projects
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, equivalent professional experience
- Previous experience in a Project Coordinator or Project Officer position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
