Key duties:
- Establish institute-wide program governance structures, including logical grouping of projects and programs to enable their effective governance
- Introduce standard definitions and terminology related to programs and projects, including a clear delineation between projects/programs and ‘business as usual’ operational activities
- Define a program and project lifecycle management approach that will meet the unique needs of the institute
- Introduce and document standard program and project management methodology, including guidelines, templates and processes for scoping, planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating programs and projects
- Establish and document processes for governing programs and projects, including mandatory requirements for program and project reporting, as well as internal and external program and project assurance
- Identify priorities for ongoing capability development in the area of project governance and management, including staff training, supporting technology (e.g. for program reporting), and continuous quality improvement process
- Identify and recommend other supporting structures (e.g. community of practice, EPMO and/or similar) and processes that will ensure ongoing success of program and project governance in the institute
