Your role
As the Procurement Category Manager, you'll oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle, from supplier sourcing to contract management, ensuring high standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and supplier relationships. You'll also contribute to the broader strategy by aligning with global purchasing plans and supporting internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute commercial strategies, negotiate supplier contracts, and oversee the purchasing process.
- Develop category strategies, lead sourcing initiatives, negotiate supplier contracts, and manage contracts through their lifecycle.
- Foster strong relationships across various business units, supporting internal stakeholders in the procurement process.
- Ensure compliance with global and local procurement processes and conduct audits to implement corrective actions.
- Train and support local staff in procurement processes, contributing to team growth and efficiency.
About You
- Degree in Business or relevant field, or equivalent experience.A passion for streamlining processes, implementing data-driven improvements, and optimising procurement functions.
- Proven experience in procurement, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and category management, ideally within the heavy truck and bus industry.
- High-level analytical and negotiation skills.
- Effective people management skills, with the ability to guide and support internal customers.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information to make sound decisions.
