An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Business Partner to join a leading service organisation, playing a key role in the transformation and modernisation of procurement processes. This role offers a chance to drive strategic procurement decisions, negotiate with suppliers, and contribute to delivering value for money outcomes.
Your New Role:
Reporting to an experienced procurement leader, you will be responsible for conducting all sourcing, project, and contract activities with the highest levels of probity and integrity. As part of this role, you will play an active part in key projects, focusing on IT and IT security procurement. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including IT teams and procurement, to align objectives and deliver effective procurement outcomes
- Leading negotiation activities across a variety of tenders, including high-value and high-risk IT procurements, ensuring a focus on IT security requirements
- Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, particularly within the IT sector, while assisting both current and new suppliers in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with the council
- Enhancing the internal brand of procurement within the organisation, proactively collaborating with stakeholders on IT sourcing and contract management activities to ensure successful project delivery
- Analyzing and reporting on supplier performance, IT-related spend, supply chain risks, and contracts management activities to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement
What You Will Need to Apply:
- At least 5 years of strategic procurement experience, preferably in IT or IT security, within the public sector or a complex commercial organization
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, IT supply chain management, contracts management, or a similar field
- CIPS certification (or working towards it) will be highly regarded
- Strong customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering tailored IT solutions to internal stakeholders and the wider community
- Proven understanding of the legal and commercial aspects of IT and IT security contracts
- Ability to start at short notice, with a preference for candidates open to contract-based work
- A growth mindset and a passion for contributing to real change within the community, fostering positive relationships and empowering people
