The client is seeking the services of an experienced Power Platform Specialist to design, develop, and implement high-quality business solutions using Microsoft Power Apps. The position involves collaborating with users to create customisable, scalable, and efficient applications that integrate with various data sources and systems, including SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and internal databases. The role requires an innovative approach to building Power Apps solutions that enhance business productivity and meets the needs of subject matter experts at each stage of the data collection, review and release stages.
You will work as part of a project team to create a solution comprising a user-friendly interface and back-end systems that together integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, subject matter experts and desk research. The solution will integrate with an existing Azure Synapse solution and connect to other databases within the department, including an SQL database and an AWS Redshift instance.\
Key Duties:
- Work closely with the business and IT teams within the department to: o Empower users with tools to streamline workflow processes and data management. o Customise user experiences with Power Apps, particularly in developing Canvas and Model Driven Apps. o Integrate existing systems and services by establishing API connections and utilising connectors available in the Power Platform. o Ensure compliance with organisational governance and security guidelines.
- Design, develop, and maintain critical business applications using Microsoft Power Apps and other tools in the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Integrate Power Apps with other Microsoft 365 services and various internal data sources.
- Convert business requirements into functional design specifications and implement robust Power Apps solutions.
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle development processes, including planning, analysis, design, testing, and deployment.
- Document technical designs, release notes, and user guides while maintaining best practices.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
- Extensive experience in Power Apps development, including both Canvas and Model-Driven applications.
- Experience with the broader Power Platform suite, including Power Automate and Power BI.
- Proficiency in utilising Common Data Service (CDS) and creating custom connectors.
- An understanding of development practices and integration with Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics 365.
- Experience with source control and Agile methodologies.
- A solid understanding of data privacy and security standards within a government context.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work across multiple initiatives and varying stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the development or enhancement of information systems in relation to systems integration, application ‘look and feel’, development, deployment and maintenance of applications.
- Experience working with government organisations is preferrable but not mandatory.
