Randstad Digital is on the hunt for a fantastic Platform Engineer - Development to join a mining organisation for a 12-month contract, with the view to extend past that point. Based in Brisbane or Perth, the purpose of this role is to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure platforms that enable software development teams to deliver high-quality applications efficiently. By combining expertise in platform engineering and DevOps practices, this role ensures seamless integration, automation, and optimisation of development pipelines while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical liaison between developers and other IT teams like cybersecurity, networks, and enterprise architecture.
- Partner with development teams to identify, resolve and bottlenecks in workflows.
- Proactively lead initiatives to address issues to minimise delays and improve developer experience by focusing on reliability and system performance.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools relevant to platform engineering and DevOps.
- Integrate security best practices into the platform and development pipelines.
- Identify, develop and standardise manual or automated reusable processes or components that help accelerate the development cycle times.
- Ensure development teams' compliance with industry standards and organisation policies.
- Contribute to development of architecture patterns, processes, and standards for deploying Infrastructure as Code.
- Automate routine tasks to reduce manual interventions and operational overhead.
- Maintain a close relationship with vendors and partners to ensure cloud-based or on-premises infrastructure is appropriated for cost-effective solutions.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery.
- Maintain and improve the integration between Microsoft DevOps build Pipelines and Release Management processes.
- Implement monitoring solutions to provide insights into system health and performance

- Strong focus on building repeatable, scalable processes.
- Commitment to driving automation and reducing technical debt.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Bicep, CloudFormation).
- Expertise in the use of Azure DevOps platform through PowerShell or CLI commands
