An exciting opportunity to join a local council in Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs! We are recruiting for two Planning Support Officers to join their team on an initial 6-week contract, with potential for extension.

About the Role:
As a Planning Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Statutory Planning team. You’ll be the first point of contact for planning scheme enquiries and provide high-quality support to keep the department running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to planning scheme and general planning enquiries via phone
Provide clear, accurate advice on planning processes, permits, and council policies
Support the team with administrative tasks such as processing applications and managing records
Prepare correspondence and planning documentation
Ensure professional and timely communication with all community members and stakeholders
About You:
Experience in customer service or planning support, ideally within local government
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
Highly organised and detail-oriented
A team player with a positive, proactive attitude
Basic knowledge of the Victorian planning scheme, or a willingness to learn
