As a Picker, your primary responsibility will be to identify and remove non-concrete materials from the waste stream on our sorting belts. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality of our concrete recycling process. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all materials are correctly sorted and disposed of according to our standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort through the waste materials on conveyor belts to identify and remove non-concrete items (e.g., wood, plastics, metal, etc.).
- Ensure materials are accurately sorted and placed in the appropriate disposal containers.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the plant.
- Monitor conveyor belts for any issues or blockages and report them to the supervisor.
- Work in a safe manner, following all health and safety guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Perform regular inspections to ensure quality control and prevent contamination of the concrete recycling process.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a waste management or recycling plant is preferred.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to distinguish between concrete and non-concrete materials.
- Comfortable working with machinery and conveyor belts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A positive attitude towards health and safety practices.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, as some duties may be outdoors.
