About the opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join a dynamic Payroll team as a Payroll and Remunerations Officer. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely administration of pay and entitlements for staff, as well as providing timely and relevant information to support the management of employee costs and entitlements.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensuring accurate and timely production of payroll, complying with all relevant requirements.
• Developing and maintaining a Payroll Users’ Manual, including detailed work instructions.
• Providing advice on payroll workflow processes and procedures.
• Drafting procedures and forms related to payroll management.
• Assisting in analysing, reviewing, and improving payroll processes and undertaking system maintenance.
• Providing systems training to internal users as required.
• Ensuring payroll information and responses to requests are handled confidentially and in accordance with policies.
• Regularly reconciling and balancing payroll deductions.
• Preparing reports for Workers’ Compensation claims to ensure reimbursements are correct in accordance with relevant legislation and requirements.

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role, processing end to end payroll for large organisation
• Experience with Aurion or similar systems is preferred.
• Ability to interpret complex documentation such as legislation, Awards, and Agreements.
• Ability to provide advice on complex matters in a confidential environment
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders professionally and credibly.
