Job Title: OSHC Coordinator
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated OSHC (Outside School Hours Care) Coordinator to manage and oversee all aspects of our before and after school care program. The OSHC Coordinator will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children, while ensuring the program meets all compliance and regulatory standards. This role involves planning activities, supervising staff, managing day-to-day operations, and communicating with parents and stakeholders to ensure a high-quality care experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a range of fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities for children during before and after school hours. Ensure activities promote social, emotional, and physical development, while catering to diverse needs and interests.
Staff Supervision & Training:
Recruit, supervise, and provide ongoing support to OSHC staff, ensuring they are trained in safety protocols, behaviour management, and child development. Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer professional development opportunities.
Child Safety & Well-being:
Ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children attending the program by maintaining a positive, safe, and respectful environment. Implement and monitor health, safety, and behaviour management policies.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the program complies with all relevant childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and quality standards. Complete regular audits and ensure accurate record-keeping for regulatory inspections.
Parent & Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the main point of contact for parents and caregivers, addressing concerns, providing regular updates, and ensuring strong relationships are built. Collaborate with schools and other community stakeholders as needed.
Daily Operations & Administration:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the OSHC program, including scheduling staff, coordinating with suppliers, overseeing budgets, and managing administrative tasks such as enrolments, attendance, and reporting.
Continuous Improvement:
Regularly assess the effectiveness of the program, gather feedback from children, parents, and staff, and implement improvements to enhance program quality and child outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Childcare, or a related field.
- Previous experience in OSHC or a similar childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of childcare regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, parents, and the broader community.
