My client is a Government Organisation rolling out a Fortinet-based cybersecurity upgrade, including next-generation firewalls (NGFW) and a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform. The project aims to enhance network security, remote access, and cloud protection while integrating within their existing IT environment.

Role accountabilities:

• Configuration, deployment, and testing of Fortinet firewalls across multiple sites.
• Implementation of Fortinet SASE solutions for secure remote access and cloud security.
• Integration with existing network infrastructure and security policies.
• Collaboration with internal IT teams to ensure a smooth rollout.
• Documentation of configurations, processes, and handover materials.
• General network admin and support of existing platforms (Cisco and Checkpoint) Potentially AWS security and Fortinet firewall implementation (alongside Fortinet engineers)
• The engineer may also be involved, or leading, cyber security uplift projects as well as a network and Wi-Fi upgrade later in the year.

Skills and experience required:

• Hands on SD-WAN experience.
• Hands on experience supporting VPN solutions.
• Experience in Multi-Site Deployments.
• Ability to manage rollouts in government or enterprise-scale environments.
• Security & Compliance Knowledge (Familiarity with Australian cybersecurity frameworks and best practices).
