Mining Project Manager
An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, experienced and capable Project Manager to join our contractor clients’s mining construction & maintenance project team. This position is site based, on an 8/6 FIFO roster.
The main focus of the role will be delivering a variety of structural, mechanical and piping projects and general maintenance activities. The incumbent will liaise closely with on-site client teams, sub-contractors and project teams to execute projects.
This role requires an experienced and motivated individual that can work with a high level of autonomy and has capability through the full range of projects from business case studies and scope development, through to execution including the management of projects and the contract.
About The Role
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
- Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and trade technicians
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Manage project risks and issues effectively, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Maintain strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
- Manage contractual relationships with the client, subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies
About You
- Demonstrated project management experience on mining construction and maintenance projects
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or similar experience
- A well developed network of clients and suppliers is highly desired
- Self-motivated and has the ability to work with a high level of autonomy
- Sound understanding of project, engineering and construction management
- Sound understanding of project controls (estimating, scheduling and cost control) and project reporting
- Previous experience in contract management including purchase order requests, day works and general negotiations
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven experience managing a dynamic, high quality fabrication workshop or similar
- Relevant trade experience and qualifications will be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills
- Strong commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to identify and implement improvements in work processes and the workshop environment
